Drawing with an Eraser

I toned my paper with powdered charcoal before beginning a lot of my life-drawing works.  I found it much faster and more intuitive to start this way since you could draw in the light with an eraser and then draw in the shadows with a pencil leaving the mid-tomes as the base.  I enjoyed drawing the fabric on the cloth below the model and also leaving out some parts of the drawing.

I would like to get some more experience drawing fabrics, soft goods, robots, portraits, and caricature.  I would also like to learn more about welding, woodwork, and sculpture.
